Menstrupedia
Informing and explaining young girls about menstruation is a challenge for both parents as well as teachers, due to lack of appropriate educational material and the fact that menstruation is still a taboo subject in India.
To help raise awareness we collaborated with Menstrupedia an organization that aims to create a future where every girl learns about menstruation at the right age and, in the most friendly way. Their educational material is already a part of school curriculum in more than 47 schools across India. It’s currently available in seven different languages - English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Nepali and Spanish.
Through this exciting and innovative collaboration with Menstrupedia, we conducted workshops for young girls to raise awareness about Menstruation. We added an interesting twist to the project by using life lessons of only men, from around the world. This was our way of including voices and support of the most excluded demographic from the discourse of menstruation. Our customized curriculum for this workshop is now being used for many workshops by the Mentrupedia volunteers to break myths around the subject.
